As I'm sure people are starting to find out, Halloween has brought upon the City a variety of surprises. Namely, monsters, which is inconvenient after that fiasco in Venezuela.

Needless to say, it doesn't take much brainpower to figure out the cause.

[ There's the click of a gun being loaded. ]

I have no doubt that this holiday will be an eventful one. I suppose I should advise anyone who doesn't have adequate weaponry to stay inside.

[ he flicks off the feed. REASSURING! ]

It's not exactly a spectator sport, is it? It seems reasonable that people might actually be bothered by it. Or endangered, as the case may be. Especially since a large percentage of the city [ including him - dammit he's still got bruises everywhere :| ] just recovered from the last minor catastrophe.

[ he's not a paragon of virtue, but a job's a job! he's going to go Get Things Done. ]

Though I suppose it was inevitable.

I'm sure demonic pitfights might cheer up some people, but refraining from repeating this experience would be preferable, if unlikely to happen.

[ he just sighs ] I've tried to tell him that I don't have any interest in enroaching on his territory, but apparently he insists on keeping up a one-sided rivalry. It's a little irritating.

[ he is 100% serious, ok, before you go BUT WHY DID YOU TAKE THIS JOB/WHY ARE YOU INTENDING TO HUNT DOWN HALLOWEEN MONSTERS ]

He didn't do this just to upset you, I'm sure.

Though that was rather a large part of it, I suspect.

The thought that it was done deliberately to upset me didn't even cross my mind, actually. I just assumed this kind of thing happens whenever a prominent holiday arrives on the calendar - I'm not looking forward to Christmas. Or Thanksgiving, though if he animates giant turkeys it might be more comical than legitimately threatening.

He's going to insist on continuing this feud regardless of what I do - apparently my existence in the City is some sort of continuing threat to him - so I might as well get paid for it.

And I suppose it's a change. [ he's never really worked as something akin to law enforcement before. It is an Experience. ]

I don't deny his fixation is somewhat stubborn - what fixation isn't - And I'm not one to tell you how you should spend your time.
