[ feed cuts on to kanaya sitting at a desk in her room. her eyes are closed and lips pursed with her thumb and forefinger pinched above them, not parting very widely when she speaks, as if she's under some discomfort.

toothaches are awful. growing your fangs back in over the course of a day is worse. ]

This is likely already common knowledge to any who are familiar with him, but at this point I think it would be safe to conclude that Ron Weasley has returned home. To any who were closely acquainted with him, you have my condolences.

[ she winces and reaches offscreen to grab a glass of water, hands over her mouth as she holds a gulp over her front teeth a few moments before swallowing. why did she have to do this now? this was a mistake, she should have known better. ] Excuse me. [ she pulls her purse onto her lap and starts digging around in it for a bottle of painkillers. ]

So, unfortunately, this renders mine the primary income to a household of six, which may necessitate an expansion of that. This season does tend to create a greater need with the increases in consumption that the holidays bring with them, so I may have a fair amount of options that won't use my age as an obstacle. Assuming I can balance my schedule between that and my education...or maybe I'll simply need to drop that one.

[ she finally finds the pills and drops two in her hand. ] Of course, if any of you require an augmentation to your wardrobe for season functions, my services are always available for an appropriate fee.

[ the video ends as she pops some advil. ]

I'd really love that! It's always more fun to go expurrloring and have some celebratory tea with a furiend.

[ she almost wants to doublecheck them with her tongue, but is afraid that would just get the pain going again. she's been two weeks without fangs and it has been so weird. ]

Absolutely! We'll see if we can't warm you to what The City has to offer yet.

I'm sure we can do it! It's an impawsibly large purrlace, after all.

It certainly can be, and quick transportation can make it far easier to manage. I only appreciate it more now that I find myself at a lack, having to compensate my schedule for travel is terribly restrictive!

[she giggles] Yeah, it must be pawsitively clawful fur you to have to walk efurywhere. I have no idea how you manage it!

That isn't the problem, that I wouldn't mind. But between that and the other alternatives, I'm having to expend time and money that are needed elsewhere. The time spent traveling could be spent earning more income for us.

Kanaya, you can't spend efury pawsible second trying to earn more money. We're not all going to starve if you don't!

Are you certain of that? I'm not certain of that.

And even if I weren't, it may at least allow some time for myself. That's the major sacrifice I've had to make with this shift.

See, that's a much better reason to be a little sad! But I guess that just means you'll have to get creative with your schedule so you can have some free time.

[she sympathizes, she truly does. Nepeta probably could never keep a schedule if she had to]

I don't have time for that. We have more important things to be doing for now.

What could pawsibly be more impurrtant than time to relax and keep yourself focused?

Nothing too significant, just making sure we all still have a roof over our heads.

I'm purretty sure you mean the roof that you prefur! [because Nepeta would be perfectly happy living in the park]

But eifur way if you don't have some time to unwind then you purrobably won't even be able to do that very well.

I'll be fine. I mean it can't last forever, can it?

...we don't really have that great of a track record with things working out the way they're supposed to, you know.

[ she has a point and it's one kanaya doesn't really want to think about. ] Well, I don't really have any other option! We have to sustain, and at the same time can't let our hope for things to work out entirely dissolve.

We just have to work to see those hopes realized.

Well, yeah, but can't we realize hopes without anybody working themselves to death? I'd really really prefur that.

Hope left idle is a disservice to all who may hold it. We must work for the ends we desire, or we're only wasting our time.

There's a lot more to being successful than just working, though! You need to be purractical about your limitations and stuff.

You can be practical about your limits, or you can transcend them. I'd prefer to take the latter route.

[...Nepeta can see she's not going to get anywhere here, so she just sighs and rolls her eyes dramatically]

Ok, ok! But you better believe when you end up slumped ofur a sewing machine or whatefur I'm going to be saying 'I told you so' a clawful lot!

Then I'll just have to ensure that never happens!

I hope you can do it! It'd be a purretty bad spot fur you to be in, even if I was right about it.

I've been in bad spots before, I'm sure I'll manage. There's little room for me not to.

[ on the one hand, space powers make hiding easy. on the other, she is just next door. ]
