[ A person's first interaction with the public should be carefully thought out so that every detail leads to the impression that the speaker is an intelligent and productive member of society. Generally it should be an introduction with the intent of making new friends and working towards the goals already set in place. For a girl who's been here for a few months now, she thinks an introduction is meaningless. Instead, she goes for what she desires most. ]

this cat reminds me a lot of someone i kno.
just look at that grouchy face!
i bet a good scratch behind the ear will help cure that grumpinesss.

[ There are many assumptions one can draw from this. For one, she likestrolling someone who uses this often animals. For another, she's not that great with technology and might just be learning it now. You can blame Roxy for this. Due to that, she's much like a teenager when they first get on the web. Rin also doesn't like to ask for things, but instead enjoys learning about others instead. While many probably use this to ask questions they need answers to, she asks in favor of just being addressed. Lastly, the size of her font? Clearly she's overcompensating for her ego and enjoys being "loud" and important. It may also have to do with a certain someone telling her the more unique her font is, the more powerful her magic. For Rin Tohsaka, first impressions mean a lot, but she's "venturing out" from the norm as a magus in a city that allows her to do so. ]
OOC: For my sanity's sake and for those who do choose to tag this, assume all text replies from Rin are in that same font style unless specified otherwise. Thanks!

[ Isn't that a month? What a strange name, but it beats Idiot. ]
They don't? It wouldn't be hard to get a cat here. Archer has a kitten.
voice;
[ Just a little amused. ]
Does he like cats?
voice;
[ Because she can't imagine why. The cat seems to wait for Archer enough. ]
Oh, I don't think he does. He named it Idiot for one.
voice;
[ The quirk of a smile is nearly audible. ]
Maybe he was hoping you'd stop calling him an idiot if he named it that.
voice;
[ And that's a huff. ] Besides, he didn't name his stupid cat that for that reason.
voice;
[ She seems a little too young to be doing anything more than part-time work, but if her answer's in the negative, he wouldn't be surprised. ]
Why did he name it that, then?
voice;
[ She's not meaning to brag, in fact it sounds more like a burden she never wanted. ] When my father was killed, I had to step up to fulfill the role at a young age.
Besides that, it was alright. I was good at keeping things manageable. [ AKA most magi left because of her strict rules when it came to workshops. ] Oh, but he named the cat that because it reminds him of someone back home, I imagine. The fur is the same color as that idiot's hair.
voice;
So does this make you a princess or something?
[ Shelving the questions about the cat for later; he'll find a way to bring the topic back to it. ]
voice;
[ What part of that ever implied royalty? Her attitude probably, but she's taken by surprise. ]
No, of course not. The city used to host sort of a tournament there and as a result, it needed a constant caretaker to ensure no supernatural disturbances were noticed by the innocent civilians. My responsibility was to ensure those who practiced magecraft or anything of the sort--[ Because she doesn't mind telling someone who's seen her magecraft first hand about it. ]--kept to themselves. The less people who knew of it, the better.
[ Seeing as most innocents who happened upon magi were killed. ]
voice;
[ He hadn't know what Rin used in the arena was magic, but now that he thinks about it, it makes sense. It doesn't exactly cleanly fit under superpowers, that's for sure.
The idea of a "tournament," though, makes him just a little twitchy, and maybe it shows in the way his voice seems to grow just a little bit tighter. ]
Sounds like a tough job.
voice;
That sounds so complicated, huh? In short, the stuff that required me is now defunct so I'm free to pursue whatever I want in life. Even if that means being brought to a country against my will and forced to deal with Archer's grumpiness every day.
voice;
He could say more, maybe, about how that isn't necessarily true: that she'd just find herself at the exact moment she left back home, with no memory of what transpired here. But if she's not already aware, it's probably best not to enlighten her. ]
voice;
... Mister Bradbury, are you from Fuyuki City, Japan too?
voice;
[ Sorry, Rin, he has to laugh at that. ]
'Fraid not, Miss Tohsaka. I've lived in New York nearly my whole life.
voice;
[ She thinks back on that mass of flesh and evil, giving a silent shiver that no one is witness to. That had been her future. If Lancer didn't choose to disobey his Master, Rin would have become the Lesser Grail herself.
All because of Archer's selfishness.
Would he have come to save her when she was already mutated? Rin doubts it; Archer had no hope, so why would he make a risky move for someone he had no interest in? Shinji was only saved because of her, but who would have come for her?
Shirou was fighting Gilgamesh, Saber would have been killed, and Archer would have probably interfered in the first's fight to kill the both of them. It would have been too late. ]
Sorry, I grew kind of quiet there. I was just wondering what sort of stories there were about the Grail.
voice;
[ And here it's his turn to pause, because aside from the general idea of what it is, he hasn't got a fucking clue about what the stories about the Holy Grail are, not being a fan of Arthurian legend. Well, except for one. ]
So it's basically a cup, right? But not a fancy cup, it's just a crappy-looking one, except it's, I dunno, magic or something. So if you drink from it, it'll keep you from dying. Or if you pour water from it, it'll cure anything. It's supposed to be guarded by knights, except most of them are dead. And mostly, people think finding it's gonna solve all their problems, but they usually just end up dying horribly instead.
[ Then, because he feels bad for having essentially reeled off all he can remember of the plot of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: ]
Uh, but you could probably just look for a book in a library or something, if you wanna see if the stories here are any different.
voice;
[ Congratulations Bradbury on guessing most of the plot for Fate/Stay Night? ] People do die senselessly over it, but when it comes down to being able to have any wish granted, it would make even the most sane and selfless person twisted.
voice;
[ He pauses, like he's considering if he really wants to ask the question he's thinking of. ]
So, what, you were trying to break it?
voice;
[ Initially, she only wanted to win because her father didn't. Funny how things change over a couple weeks. ]
So it wouldn't hurt anyone else. I suppose that makes me a hero of some sorts, but I'm not having any of that.
