☾ text ❀ 011 ☽

Hello city!
I am not entirely sure what my feelings on Spring are. Regardless, I shan't complain about nicer weather nor about the chance to eat outside. Perhaps I will stop needing an umbrella when Summer finally arrives.

On that note, I regret to inform you that since Kanaya has decided my birthday is now July 12th, I will be expecting another set of birthday presents in three months. My condolences to my friends. If you are stuck on what to get me, I suggest checking my Amazon wishlist. :)

On a completely different note, I am looking for recommendations for books containing historical context into medieval torture. I would appreciate any input.

Heh. You got me there.

Have you tried a certain place known as your local library? I hear they're pretty good finangling these sorts of questions.

C'mon, I just did a search for 'medieval torture' on Amazon and got a gabillion results. Some of those have to be at the library -- it is one of the finest in the world, you know. [Peter will never miss a chance to shill the New York Public Library, even if it... isn't New York.] Try cross-referencing Medieval History and Criminology, or ask for help at the reference desk.

I think you're seriously underestimating both the gumption of librarians and the twisted minds of the great scholars of the past whose shoulders you're standing on.

[Okay, now we're moving towards sassy.]

I know they've seen weirder.

No, I'm saying your research topic isn't quite so out there as you think it is.

[Kids these days, always thinking they invented quirky.]

Well, I'm not a guy to discourage scholarly ambition in the young, but that could take you a while, just so's you know.
