001 / serious business

Alright now.  Time for a few questions.  I don't want any of you making crap up on the spot.  Give me answers.

Who took my sword?  I had it just a second ago-now I don't.  Well?  Who took it?  Was it this 'Iron Man' bloke everybody keeps yapping about?

Has anyone seen a short, Japanese man wandering around?  He kind of looks like a fish if you squint hard enough and if none of you lot has my sword then he does.

And last, where the hell am I?  This isn't Odessa.

CAN HE PAINT YOUR NAILS TOO? <3

Hey, well, the way I see it, all that research can be billed back to the Man, since he has decided to sort of volunteer us for something that -- no, last I heard, we do not get paid for. And something tells me, even if he does, restocking the minibar's going to be cold comfort the minute my body starts demanding proteinproteinprotein. I mean, I'm a growing boy with strange alien physiology, the last thing I need is to live my life from sugar high to sugar high. Oh wait, that's exactly what teenage boys do isn't it?

Okay, so is there anyway to get, like, forewarning before you go gallivanting around in your Time? Cause I've seen some messed up crazy shit before, but that -- you sort of forward winking -- may actually give me an embolism.

Well, okay point on that, Nix. I kind of totally do. Bill says it's how I get to be all "in touch with my feelings" without coming off like a complete afterschool special sometimes (keyword: sometimes) -- which hey, fine by me. Sometimes, though, you still have to go through the motions. You know. For effect. Wouldn't want to get cocky or anything.

Wow, gross misuse of superpowers much, Miss Just-Drop-Out-the-L? Though, okay -- admittedly -- that just happens to be my middle name every once and a while. Doubly so when Stark's involved. Don't you worry, cause I'm googling YouTube videos as I type, trying to figure out just how about to go about this beyond "snip snip". Cause even though I do make with the automatic mend-y, it's still usually enough to make me go "ow".

[identity profile] skrullactually.livejournal.com 2008-10-14 07:38 pm (UTC)(link)
To be honest, I can get behind pretty much any platform that ends with the phrase "blame Stark". Some people would say that I'm bitter and yeah...okay. I maybe I am. I'm so going to need to find a way to make money, but the thought of me ported all the way to generic metropolis USA only to wind up flipping burgers for minimum wage when I'm not trying to save people from burning buildings or whatever, is kind of depressing.

Ah the get the hell out of here school of thought. You should meet the runaways (yes, I'm serious). They're very much of the same mindset, though they do the occasional heroing anyways but some of them I'm pretty sure would take issue being associated with proper supers.

PS. Okay so maybe I do totally love Drop-Out-the-L, and maybe I've spent more time than I'd like to admit trying to find a way to turn it into some kind of nickname for you. Just do me a favor and try not to rub off on Bill, otherwise then you and I might have to have a come-to-jesus or something.

this is where i being to wish my runaways/nyx fic was canon

I can't even remember why we're talking so small.

So, what exactly happened with you and the tin can back in New York? 'cause as fun as you being vague when we first met was, sooner or later I'm going to start thinking he tried to steal your boyfriend. And flipping burgers? You could at least aim for retail clerk.

The runaways? What the hell kind of name for a superhero team is that? Sounds about as useful as me. Then you guys must get on alright...

Heh. If you do come up with a nickname, make sure I'm the first to know. I'll put it on my business card! I still need to meet—talk to, whatver—the witch boy.

Yeah, see-- he did technically sort of steal me. But I think kidnapping, taking hostage, or nearly stuffing in a potato sack are less misleading terms.

... a surprising amount of my gay jokes are turning out to not be jokes. Huh.

I take it you're Billy?

[identity profile] witchactually.livejournal.com 2008-10-14 08:51 pm (UTC)(link)
It's cool. Really. 'Cause, you know, a surprising amount of ridiculous things happen to us.

I guess my reputation precedes me. Is that a good thing, or has Teddy been telling stories about me setting things on fire again?

[identity profile] timestopping.livejournal.com 2008-10-14 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Yup. Teddy likes to bring you up. A lot. ... although I didn't hear about you burning things. You've got my attention. Does this have something to do with raping reality, or whatever it is you do?

[identity profile] skrullactually.livejournal.com 2008-10-14 09:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Your mastery of the English language is astounding, Nix.

LOG?

[ooc] here you go, doll (http://community.livejournal.com/capeandcowllogs/3042.html?#cutid1)

[identity profile] witchactually.livejournal.com 2008-10-14 09:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Er. I wouldn't call myself a rapist, exactly. I would say that was more Mom's thing. It's more like reality tweaking. Like when I'm late for school.

... from the sounds of it you've got a fuckton of problems that Teddy left out. Awesome.

LOL SORRY FOR CONSTANT EDITING. :(

[identity profile] witchactually.livejournal.com 2008-10-14 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)
You know, considering the whole mom thing and heroing aside, I'm actually preeee-tty average. Or as average as a teenage witch can get. But, hey, Sabrina did it too.

it seems to make PERFECT SENSE.

[identity profile] skrullactually.livejournal.com 2008-10-14 08:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, so for the record, he did steal my boyfriend -- no technicallys. As in, "oh we're fighting a Civil War -- supers vs. supers -- and I don't think your side should have teleports, kthxbai". So what he did was he knocked him out, scooped him up, and threw him this maximum security just-for-supers prison place and kept him there.

See, the thing about the Tin Man, at least, our version of him. Is he thinks that those of us with "superhuman" abilities are -- ah, what did he say? Weapons of mass destruction. So he likes to keep tabs on us. Which, where I'm from, meant registration. Which I don't like. At all. so maybe you can get why I'm not really one to "get with his program" so to speak

The runaways are, well, just that. The story's kind of complicated I wonder if there are any here but they just don't really like being "part of the system". Which kind of does sound like you, but not necessarily in a bad way.

[identity profile] timestopping.livejournal.com 2008-10-14 09:09 pm (UTC)(link)
The pros of being a gutterpunk: tin can billionaires don't give a fuck about what you can do because to them you don't exist. No boyfriend stealing or cracked out prisons.

If any of these runaways do turn up, that can only be good for us, right?
