You know, sometimes I think it'd be so much easier if I wasn't a city girl so I could just like go camping or something when everything goes to hell in a handbasket.

But then I remember I've watched too many horror movies and too many crime shows to ever want to be in the woods by myself without like... a tank backing me up. And tanks are probably really expensive, so I guess I'm just gonna have to get a dog bowl and write "KILLER" on it. Or a sign that says like "beware of spiders and human matchsticks". Dunno if that's more or less threatening than "beware of dog" though.

I dunno, maybe because then I wouldn't run into shape-shifting aliens and giant tentacle monsters from the deep every few months.

Not that I actually saw said giant tentacle monster, but it's the principle of the thing.

Y'know, the Fantastic Four once told me about a family road trip they took to the Pine Barrens. Didn't even last a day before they had to foil an alien invasion.

Yeah, I'm also not a superhero, so I've got that going for me.

Kinda, sorta, vaguely related to all that in a roundabout way... can we do pizza and talk sometime soon?

I think 'beware of spiders' would be a lot scarier than 'beware of dog.'

Depends on if you know what "beware of spiders" is actually referring to.

I can probably guess!

But even if it was just like, really big actual spiders it would freak people out more than a dog.

You know what? Camping sucks. Next disaster, we should all just go to the beach.

A short vacation away from the City sounds advisable.

But not perhaps alone, for the reasons mentioned. You could make it a group trip.

Sort of? I think it's more the adrenaline rush that comes with really scary movies that people like.

I fear it is one of those things that I will never understand. Perhaps the things you consider horrors are every day occurrences for us.
