[ it's a shaky cell phone video, but after a moment it's possible to recognize the club and team sign-up board at the school. Aradia's voice pipes up from behind the camera to explain ]
Hey guys! Me and Dave had a talk with some teachers today, and apparently they think we're not involved enough in school to care, and that's why we're both kind of doing awfully. And I guess it's a human thing to make kids stay for more school, except it's for fun?
"For fun" is what they use to rope you in; truth is they're trying to keep an eye on you so you don't get knocked up or whatever at fifteen. Because we're all looking for a screaming kid to get us a free pass outta math.
Dave, you can't get pregnant, I asked. Anyway, we've kinda vetoed most of these, because Dave doesn't like sports and I don't want to sit inside any longer than I have to!
Hey, I like sports. I'm great at sports. I could kick sports' ass in any sports-related sport.
[ there is a thwap as aradia smacks him in the arm. ]
That's not what you said and you know it! [ She turns the camera towards him as he 'explains' ]
Whatever. Turns out sports ain't Megido's thing and I'd be a douche to leave my main girl to get felt up by acne-riddled neckbeards who all manage to smell identical shades of eau de armpit. More of a douche than usual.
Yes, I made a mistake, that's exactly the problem. [ she starts slowly panning along the lists again ] So, if anyone sees anything interesting-- oh, I didn't see that one before! It sounds peppy. [ The camera stops on the cheerleading signup list ]
[ Dave KNOCKS THE PHONE AWAY uvu innocently ] They get the idea.
Hey--! You had your chance to use the camera! What's the problem?
Nothing. Like I said, they got it, axe the video.
[ she sighs ]Now you're just being difficult. I'm going to sign us both up for it!
No, Jesus fucking Christ, no.
[ she pulls out a pen and brandishes it at the list ]I'm tired of trying to decide! We're doing this.
We're not making this happen.
We are! We are so making this ha-- ohmygod, is that Terezi? Where's her shirt!?
[ She points frantically down the hallway, and as Dave's head whips around, she dashes both of their names down on the paper and makes a run for it ]
