Keeping up a profile is hard work sometimes. Not in an everyday sense of style and appearance but with notable features, like your face. [the feed clicks on to Quentin drying his hair out with a towel. it's relatively normal, until you take a closer look at the pink stains in the towel and streaked across his white shirt.] Since the first impressions come from the face, we look for a couple of key traits. But, no matter the judgement, we use these keys to support our impressions and info of the person.

Say you take a guy in glasses with well kept hair who dresses sharply. What would you think of him? Now take the same guy, shave his hair and dye it, and give him faded and raggedy clothing. Would your opinion change? [he pauses briefly to remove the towel around his head, unveiling his newly dyed pink hair.] Come on, don't lie. We're all a little biased.

It's the very principle of being judged or having that distinct face that we strive for appearances.

I tend to not give a flying fae what people think when they see me. I'm sure they take one look and are all "Oh she's some freaky goth chick better stay away from her." Pffft.

But uh, as far as the questions go. [She pushes herself up so she's sitting upright.] I guess dude that dresses sharply with well kept hair would give the impression he's rather boring. But I tend to not let first impressions stop me from trying to get to know someone.

Do they? What if someone acts freakishly snobby and rich. You might hate them for being snobby or you might like them for being rich. But then you find out later, he's not rich and not as cool-headed as you thought he was. Your impressions change.

Do you know how long it takes to change your first impression of someone?

If I said extremely biased, people would shit their pants and try to argue that they aren't biased in any way.

You'd be surprised how often we treat others based on how they present themselves. For an example, you might see a smelly raggedy guy covered in vomit. You'll give him a few bucks, but you're already saying how you're going to react based on appearances.
