This network is apparently city-wide, isn't it?

Fine. Looking for anyone from a version of Earth that knows what a Daemonite is, or remembers a point in the early 21st century when the US government was overthrown by a super-being taskforce.

Chime in. Anyone. Civilian, super, or otherwise. Any information shared will helpful for both of us.

[the video opens up to view...a cat. not just any cat! Safeguard's cat, Aurex. who, after a curious sniff at the comm, promptly darts off as a pair of hands come in to view. Vector's voice can then be heard, somewhat annoyed]

"Pit, Safeguard, how hard is it to mind /one/ small organic?"

[Safeguard's feet are in view. he's also still stuck on speaking Binary, which probably sounds like a rapid series of high/low beeps, with some spaces in between. and when we see rapid? we /mean/ rapid. imagine how fast morse code is, and you're close.]

[Vector, however, remains unamused, moving off-camera to try and catch the cat]
"Shiny clothing aside, I'm beginning to understand why certain versions of Sentinel Primes dislike organics so."

[another series of beeps from Safeguard, sounding somewhat sheepish]

"Not when she's trying to tear up my jack-"

[Vector suddenly dissolves in to a brief burst of coughing, raising a hand to his throat. Safeguard immediately cuts out his beeping as he moves to Vector's side, who waves him off after clearing his throat. and then speaks again.]

[this time, though? when Vector speaks, he's not speaking English. and it honestly doesn't sound like a language that /should/ be spoken by a human throat. it is...inhuman.]

[take the frequency of a modem transmitting information - and mix it with the strings of an orchestral instrument. the result is something that /sounds/ old, and clearly alien. whether it is grating to the ears or holds a beauty to it remains to be seen, but any birth-Cybertronians /might/ perk up at this point.]

[Safeguard balks a bit, beeping in surprise - Vector frowns a little, speaking again, then stopping as he seems to realize he's in another language. then trying again-still, that strange data-language. he reaches up to touch his throat, seeming somewhere between perplexed and annoyed-]

[-and then Aurex pounces back in to view of the comm, batting it without care or concern for the current 'vocalizer' problems the two 'humans' are having.]

actual 'script' for OOC purposes, and/or omniglots, and/or anyone else who has a reason to understand inhuman languages )

[ The picture shows a bit of a little clearing in the woods where a campsite has been set up. Hilly terrain, beautiful scenery. ]

Out of town for the weekend. Mmm, I was past due for a vacation anyway. And even a city girl like me can appreciate the view out here.

[ The camera pans a bit, showing a decent-size campfire. There may be supplies for s'mores nearby. And look, there's Logan reclining under a tree, catching a few winks. There's a hat over his face, but it's hard to mistake the build and the plaid flannel shirt. ]

The quiet's nice too.

[ She sounds like she's at peace, for once. Perhaps even happy? ]

We'll be back in a few days.

Is there any way to moderate what networks these things can and can't access? There are some things I'd like restricted.

[[OOC note: Yes, he means websites, not networks. He doesn't come from a world with free-roaming intertubes, so bear with him. Even now, he's like a granny on Facebook.]]

Well, time to go shopping for groceries again. Does anyone have any requests, or should I just get what I usually do?

Sasuke, are you settling in all right?

Yoite... How's your job going?

Oh... And I found a new book to read! It's called 'The Adventures of Tom Sawyer' and it's really amazing- I don't think I've read a story I've liked this much before!

What are some other good books to read?

Have you ever wondered what the side of a penny looks like when it's face down on top of a table that's standing on a raft that's sitting on a truck in the middle of the desert?

I lost my head for a while.  It wasn't very pleasant at all, I think it went to India for awhile to sit at the feet of a Bhudda and talk to the little bowing men in the brightly colored coats and then I got lost in the eyelashes of a showgirl in Vegas when she kissed her manager's wife.

They ran away to... somewhere...  Somewhere where there's sunlight and daisy chains and forget-me-nots.  I don't think they made it though and the showgirl drank a lot and slept with the bouncer.

The little men are really very clever and told me lots of good things, but I don't remember half of them now because I wrote them down on the walls with the big thick makers.  Do not paint over this message.

Did you learn any secrets today?

[In a strange, dreamy sort of voice]

You've wandered left, and wandered right,
And through the city's gaping maw,
You whispered to the bloody night,
So red in tooth and red in claw.
For now, you shall upon bones gnaw
'Twill keep you whole, as well it can.
So, to your poor lost mind withdraw,
Far away from your vanished man.

[This is followed by some white noise, before the connection is cut.]

I've had, and will continue to have, a lot of time to think while I am awaiting a trial... and any sort of advocate interested in career suicide to defend me.

I've been thinking about what constitutes a system of justice in this human world, and I find it curious that it is possible to be sentenced to "life in prison without parole." That is somehow considered more humane than death.

Why is that?

What would you want to live for if you were never going to be allowed out of prison?

I do not use this thing often; I see little point in it. Many people use this Network to ask questions, I’m not sure if I see much point in that either. It’s not like we will remember the answers we are given here. We will return home and things will cycle on. People will die and destruction will continue. People know this, yet they still ask questions. Maybe it’s good enough to get an answer here, even if you will not remember when you leave. Or maybe people ask because they are simply curious. That is part of why I wish to ask a question: simple curiosity.

What does it mean to have a soul? Some say the soul decides if you are good or evil, without one you’re simply a monster. What is a soul? What does it mean to you?
