[The feed turns on to show the big symbol of a lightning bolt before the camera's position is corrected and a red-cowled face with green eyes is revealed. Wally looks a little bit roughed up - though it's mostly just the suit - and he's rubbing the back of his neck with a semi-pained expression.]
You know, I was going to blame McCulloch for this one, but then I remembered. Talk about a head rush — memory rush? I hate them. Apparently it's a rule you can't get memories back without feeling like you've been hit by a freight train or something. [He drops the hand from his neck, offers a smile and makes a gesture as if to indicate 'moving on'.]
Hello, City. Great timing as always! It's been a long while, years even. [A beat.] For me anyway. Last time I was here, I was just a kid. God, I was small. And— [He abruptly cuts himself off as he suddenly looks away, distracted by a small boy's voice piping up from next to him off screen. The distant "Who are you?" can even be heard over the comm. There's a tiny moment of consideration before Wally steels his face and lowers his voice in a really poor imitation.]
I'm Batman. [The next thing said can't quite be heard but apparently right after it, the boy runs off.] Wait, no! I was... kidding. [Too late. He facepalms.] Right. I forgot, the usual heroes aren't known and loved as much here.
I mean, I'm sure he'd look stunning in red too but I don't think he could pull it off quite as well. [He finally looks back to the comm, seemingly remembering he was recording.]
Where was I? Oh yeah, little teen me. So that was many, many years ago. But if I remember this place correctly, it probably wasn't the same amount of time here. So how long was I gone? A year? A few months? A month? A... week? I can't remember what date it was.
I was Kid Flash, by the way. The first. It's just Flash now. Good to be back. Sort of.
