halfwitch: little girl, bloody and looking down (I was so ashamed of myself.)

[Private to Boyd Langton; forward dated to the 8th]

I need to talk to you. I did something. Don't be mad.

[Hello City, your screen is being graced with the inside of a giant bubble. A giant bubble that's hovering several feet off the ground. A giant bubble that just so happens to be housing two young girls. Neither Gretel or Midii look amused. After a moment of looking annoyed at the comm, Gretel states the obvious.]

We're trapped. In a bubble. A magic bubble. Somebody better do something.

[ooc: The spell will eventually wear off and the girls will come out of this with no harm but to Gretel's pride}

What makes someone a good friend?

Some people say if you make a wish on your birthday it's guaranteed to come true. If it really was, what would you wish for?
halfwitch: little girl looking caught off guard (Don't startle me again)

[Gretel's sitting in a small office, sulking.]

Is it really stealing if I'm taking library books? It's not my fault if I can't get a card because I don't have parental consent. That's a dumb rule anyway. I was going to bring them back. [She shifts.] Eventually.

I"m not going to get sent to jail for being a book thief am I? I think the lady at the desk said something about the law.

[ooc: Boyd's going to be helping her with this, so chronologically all threads will be after his]
halfwitch: little girl leaning on the wall, watching something (I'll slip away quietly)

If you're a student at Xavier's school, tell me what you think about it. Truthfully.
halfwitch: little girl looking over her shoulder (The quiet march to freedom)

[Gretel's sitting on the edge of her bed in the clinic, shoving things into a bag. Someone's ready to bolt.]

I don't really understand any of you. I've never had anyone be so interested in what I was doing or feeling or thinking before. I don't like it. It's weird. When people act that nice they usually want something in return but all I have is my magic and I heard that you've already got people who can do that here, so I have no idea what you want from me.

[Pausing as she shoves into her bag some jello she may or may not have stolen from someone down the hall.]

Miss Shahra. I don't know why you'd risk getting hurt to save me, but thank you. I'm kind of glad you did. I guess I owe you now.

[Gretel appears on the screen, expression surly. She brushes some curls out of her face with the back of one hand, turning her head up so she’s peering down into the camera disapprovingly. She's wearing a coat that looks more like it belongs to a tall man instead of a little girl and a long ratty scarf, both of which she's lifted from a clothing drive at a local church. She's sitting in what looks like a section of the library, children's books piled around her. If you look closely enough, she looks to be in the world history section.]

That thing said it brought us here to be heroes, but I don’t think you guys have been acting much like heroes as far as I can tell. Heroes are supposed to go and slay all the evil things and save everyone like in the story books. They don’t let the bad guys get away with kidnapping little kids to weird cities or let bad creatures nab and pretend to be their friends.

[She purses her lips, tapping the screen for emphasis.]

If you can't do it right, you shouldn't call yourself a hero.
