This is so weird!

[Noise in the background sounds like someone is playing with the buttons as if unsure what they're for, and when there's a sudden cut to video (which bounces around and turns sideways, upside-down, and back again; only shortly showing a girl and her surroundings) the confusion could only be confirmed. Soon after, it's back to voice.]

What's it for? Or...maybe 'what is it' would be better. I don't know. But why would that, um, that weird thing give it to me if I haven't seen it before? And why would it bring me here - I was doing something important! Prince and Master could've died if I didn't get there when I did! They need me! I don't even know what I'm supposed to do here!

So, hey. Looks like I'm taking off on a planned-yet-spontaneous vacation. Couldn't have come at a better time, I've had it with the insomnia and craziness here. Guess I'll be gone about two weeks, so if this means I'm missing the opening night of Dancitron, well damn. As long as the invitation to come check it out is open for anytime?

...guess that also means I'm postponing our night out, Kyosuke. Sorry! I'll make it up to you, I promise. I just...am taking advantage of an opportunity. Leaving tomorrow.

When I get back it'll be high time I actually landed a job. I know there've been offers, but if I actually put my work for an international shadow corporation on my resume, I bet I'd get even more so I could pick and choose. I want to make enough to get out of the MAC and get myself a motorcycle, dammit. Some of these big corporate types could be in the market for a qualified pilot, right?

Helloooooooooo EVERYBODY! Welcome to Rich Rabble Russian Roulette, Joker style! Eeeeeverybody here gets a revolver. It's got two bullets in it. One of my esteemed henchmen here has a laptop, if you transfer a million dollars into my account, we take a bullet out. How's that for generosity?

And don't even think about shooting your way to safety once you get the gun or this will happen.

[The Joker raises a semi-automatic pistol and fires, hitting one of the patrons in the head.]

Oopsie, I hope he's not one of the ones who would have paid.

[The people bustle about, many of them paying up and getting a gun with only one bullet, some of them taking a gun with two as they're ushered back into a circle.]

Now, everyone aim the gun at the head of the person to your left. Hahahaha, thaaaaat's right, you're shooting each other. Ooooh, is that your wife you have to shoot? Too bad. And you lady, look positively delighted. Husband's "secretary" to your left? Good for you. And if you don't pull the trigger, we're gonna shoot you in the gut a few times. It's not a pretty death.

Now, one, two, three!!

[Gunshots as some of the people in the circle pull the trigger and kill the person next to them.]

Now, how can we tell who shot and who didn't? Ahh hell, boys, just shoot 'em all. Hahahahahahaha.

[The thugs open fire on the guests, only as they're circling them, they hit each other as well. Those that aren't dead, the Joker finishes off.]

So hard to get intelligent help these days. Oooohahaahahaha. Well folks at home, thanks for watching. Maybe next time you can play along.

Holy, this city is a mess. I've only been here for a couple days and yeesh. It makes a girl wonder if she should get back into the "hero business". Knowing the way my life goes, that will probably end up happening.

I've got one gig lined up for the now, at least. It's nothing glamorous, but it's a start. I need to get on my feet and outta the institute as soon as possible.

[ The screen is filled with a blue shape, reflecting flickering red light. Then the object pulls back and is revealed to be a battered toy helicopter with stubby hands. The hands gesture frantically at the camera. Then the helicopter slaps itself over where its face would be and picks up the comm. The view swerves to show the rest of the area - a corridor with the walls and ceiling in flames. The view pans down to the floor. Toybox is crumpled there, unmoving. Other toys are scattered over the floor - a few are industriously marching around in the flames as if trying to smother them, but for the most part they are milling around senselessly.

The helicopter's thick fingers stab at the comm and activate the text option. ]

It's been quieter lately. Is that gonna keep up, you think? I dunno about you people, but I could sure use some 'downtime', or whatever you want to call it. Can we call it 'stuff doesn't get smashed or exploded time'? And can it last more than a week? That'd be nice.

But hey, I hear that Phantom Renegade guy has been, you know, making the rounds now! I don't know what he's been stealing, since in my homeworld he specialized in something that we don't have here, but he was known for being pretty resourceful. He's probably really dangerous, so it's probably a god idea not to try and mess with him. If I had to guess.

Oh, and Ikki - I went back to Japan a few weeks ago, and this one doesn't have either a Riverview or a Medaropolis. Sorry, buddy. The rest is pretty similar, though.
