[Hey remember that bright pink cartoon pony from a while ago? Well she's sitting around looking slightly put out.]

Heeey, who's in charge of the weather around here? It rained a little while ago and there wasn't any warning or ANYTHING! That seems like really sloppy work!

A guy like me doesn't normally think too much. I'll go ahead and admit that. That's not to say I don't think enough, either! It's just... I don't normally think too much.

But I think I have been lately, you know? It's putting me in a really lame mood, and I'm trying to get over that, 'cause nobody likes being in a bad way. Right? Right!

Even back home, I can't help but feel down whenever the girl I love would leave, but here... I mean, I haven't been back to my own world in [ Counting... ] Something like a year and eight months, right? That's ridiculous! And it's not even just that, either, it's that I got all in involved in that stupid power-stealing shit! Just when I figured this place couldn't get any more insane--!

... Ah. But I wasn't gonna say that much. I was just gonna ask something. Now I can't really remember what it was, though! It was like... Trying to start up conversations! A... [ What's the word? What's the word? ] A prompt! All I ever do is go to school and go to work, right? I gotta be more active in the community. I'm a friendly guy, I think!

So... I dunno'. Somebody tell me about being happy here. Somebody tell me about never having any doubts.

It'll all be routine again in no time, but, man, I suddenly feel kinda out of place. Not that it's too different from home like that. ...Actually, maybe that's kinda the issue.

[ Pause. Anything else? ]

Oh! And paintball! If anybody still wants to get on board, I think it'd be good to go this weekend. Or next weekend, even. Let me know which sounds better, if you wanna go. ~It'll be fun!~ At least... I bet it will be.

I am told that mortals feed themselves stories so that, satiated, they may sleep.

I find that I am often fed the moral without the tale. 'Tis difficult to digest, that way.

Mayhap I could trouble thee for a story. One they tell in your lands, in low voices. One that held you safe through the night.

Tavros had explored the MAC and found the clothing drop, and there, sitting right on top as if waiting for him, was the most amazing shirt.

After confirming about five separate times that he could actually just take it (without ever being told that it was, technically, a girl's shirt) he immediately absconded back to his respiteblock apartment to try it on. He tosses his comm onto the counter, not noticing that the video has switched on.

First things first, off with his old shirt. CHECK OUT HOW STRETCHY THAT THING IS! The fabric still strains a bit but with some maneuvering and taking it one side at a time, Tavros gets it off despite the crazy huge horns and tosses it aside. His time spent hauling himself around with his arms only has given him a little more muscle definition than the average 13 year old, but he's still very much just some scrawny kid.

And now on with the new shirt! Horn number one, check! Horn number tw- ...Horn number t-

..."Uhhh."

Maybe if he...turns it around? Nooo, that's not going to do it. Maybe if he steps through feet firs- no that was a really stupid idea, nobody puts a shirt on that way. ...He can get one horn and the top of his head through, but then his head is in the way and there's a ripping sound as he tries to stretch the shirt over his other horn, which makes him yelp and let go. The fabric springs back and he wobbles over, ending up sitting down with the entire affair hanging off of his horn, as pictured.

"...Well, shit."

[When the video feed comes on, he is obviously not in the best of moods. The cut on his forehead and the way he holds himself as if he has been knocked around also is obvious. There is smoke behind him]

This is Officer Hans Von Hammer, calling on an open channel. I require the services of someone with a lift truck of some sort.

[He looks behind himself for a moment, sighing]

And a verdamnt crane, it appears. To all police force members, I will endeavour to clear the road as soon as possible - the crash was not serious. I would appreciate someone with a knowledge of mechanics, however...while I believe this is just mechanical failure, I would like to be sure.

I assume my pay will be docked for the road repair?

[Ritsuka's communicator turns on and shows...a stretch of sidewalk. Oh and his shoes.]

Am I supposed to get a job? [He lifts the communicator and eyes the screen.] Shouldn't I finish school first? Is there a school here?

[Looking away, the boy twitches his large, feline ears and ducks out of the way of someone walking past him.]

This city is weird.

Okay, so. Uh.

I suck at planning birthday stuff. Go figure. And I haven't been real social lately so I don't even know anymore who's all friends with Bakura Ryou...so, a little help here?

His birthday's Friday. And if that's not enough, he's turning twenty, which for most people here is like 'yeah, so?' but Bakura's really super Japanese and in Japan, you come of age at 20. So. Even if I suck at planning, he needs a big deal made out of his birthday. I don't care how much he stammers and says it's nothing, it's something.

Thing is, I know a lot of people have been taking him places, and doing stuff with him lately. He's been out more than I have, which is kinda pathetic I guess. So I don't even know what to do for him that hasn't been done. Just throw a big party at the Mancave or something? I dunno. I'll take any and all ideas you guys got. It's gotta be nice - something he'll remember, something to make him happy. He needs that. He really needs that.

And, uh. Consider this a big heads-up about his birthday to everybody who knows him. Which is a lot of people.

It's strange how much taking away the ability to die changes living.

And yet, how little we've changed with it here.

I suppose a cheap knock off of immortality doesn't have the same kick to it, when you're still young - relative to everything else, that is.

Eh. Enough of that philosophical horse crap. I'm not particularly interested in imitating some broody 500 year old vampire.

Better to wonder what I'm going to do during the fall.

Got a job for you.

There's a bonus in it if it does well.
