[Charlie is curled up on the couch in her pajamas, with a bowl of cereal. She frowns at the phone, which seems to be sitting on her knee.]

Babs is gone. Uh. Barbara. Gordon, I mean. If anyone...she wasn't here long this time, I don't know how many people talked to her anything but she's...gone. Again. Of course.

Great Christmas present, right?

[The teen looks like she might say something else, but after a few seconds she just shakes her head, sighs and reaches out to turn the feed off.]

[Filtered to Bat-Family (yes Carrie you're still on this) a few minutes later. Charlie's back in Oracle's computer room now, curled up in the desk chair and lit by the monitors glowing around her.]

I guess I'm back on computer duty till she comes back. If she comes back. So let me know what you need and junk.

[Ted is not in the City, for once in his life. What with the impending holidays and the newly empty-again house, he's taken it upon himself to visit his old stomping grounds. He is currently in Millennium Park, idly watching a bunch of kids ice-skating with their parents. The camera focuses on the kids for a few seconds before Ted turns it back on himself, and he gives it a little awkward shrug.]

I felt like going on a hunt for my old apartments, what can I say. [There's a nod towards the ice rink.] Never did much of that when I was a kid. Actually, this park wasn't even around when I was a kid, but I like it anyway. Even with the weird silver jellybean statue.

So, guys -- tell me about your home, I guess, is the point of this. Other than the people from my world, because I probably know what your home is like already. I guess you can tell me what your favorite winter -- thing to do as a kid was, too, if you want. I'd like to hear what you guys have to say. ....And maybe there should be a snowball war once I get back to the City, what do you guys think?

[Andromeda is surrounded by what looks like a small mountain of gifts. Maybe she went a little overboard this year, but the holidays last year had been dampened by the whole impending doom thing, so she has to make up for it!]

I know that the Weasleys will be having their own holiday party at the nouveau-Burrow, but you know me -- I can't say no to a happy occasion. The Tonks-Lovegood house will also be having a little get-together on Boxing day -- with a potluck-style dinner. I'll be providing the glazed ham, of course, but everyone can bring whatever they desire. Normally I'd say later evening to cover the shopping blitz, but it doesn't seem so much as if that's a huge deal here, so let's go with around five.

Sirius Black, you've got a familial obligation to show for this one, at least for a little while.

Okay, so the City is pretty much part of a pretty regular version of Earth, and I have seen Christmas decorations all over the place so it's pretty safe to assume that it has normal Earth holidays right? Uhm, wait, unless my Earth is the one with weird holidays.

[ Pausing and scrunching up his face thoughtfully. It's like he JUST NOW thought of that possibility and is suddenly boggling over the idea. ]

Are Christmas, Kwanzaa and Hanukkah still normal holidays here? Because I think those are the normal ones where I am from. Also I have never celebrated the Kwanzaa or Hanukkah, so I don't actually know what's normal for them, but I know it involves candles, but... people still get trees to decorate for Christmas, right?

[the video flickers on and displays a small, poorly lit room with a bare mattress on the floor and wildly filthy, cracked walls. The conspiracy wall is out of the shot, but in the shot is an old tape deck. It's running, and a soft male voice is speaking on it.

--lieving emotions are self-organizing dynamic processes entwined with an activity in a given context.]

Hmm.

[A discrete emotion is a set of neural processes causing a specific expression and corresponding specific feeling.]

Deceptively simple, and, I believe, incorrect. [this is something that clearly troubles Ghost, or at least occupies his mind enough that he's polling the Network for it. He glances at the camera.]

How do you account for people behaving unpredictably and-or counter to their own interests?

[ the video today is shot through an open window. there's carolers on the lawn singing, and they're actually pretty good. carol seems torn between amusement and exasperation at the sight, though. ]

It's amazing how few Christmas songs are really good for caroling. I think they've started to repeat themselves.

[ there's a pause as carol shuts said window, then she continues. ]

On a vaguely related note, how many people are doing or did their holiday shopping online this year? I actually went to the mall, and I can't help but wonder if ordering things online would've been more convenient.
